I am a little late to publish this list but it is never too late to read a good book 😂 .
The last year was a bit chaotic so I couldn't read as much as I planned. I hope I can have a bigger list in 2024.
This is the list in the order I read them through out the year:
Money Made Simple by Sum Stubbs (Jan): It was a good quick read to align some money strategies for the year.
A Raiva Não Educa. A Calma Educa. by Maya Eigenmann (Jan): I believe this book was only release in Portuguese so far unfortunately. It is a good read for any parents trying to learn about positive education.
Desigualdade & caminhos para uma sociedade mais justa by Eduardo Moreira (Jan): Very good read to understand better the origin of all the inequality we have in our world.
Despertar Criativo by Fernanda Longini & Amanda Longini (Feb)
The Creative Habit by Twyla Tharp (Feb) : I highly recommend this one. Even though all the examples are from Twyla experience as a dancer and choreographer everything applies to any field.
Art Before Breakfast - Danny Gregory (Mar)
Outdoor Kids In An Inside World by Steven Rinella (Mar)
Find your artistic voice by Lisa Congdon (Apr): This theme is something I have been interested for a while since I believe I haven't found my voice yet. I really liked how Lisa guide us in the book and her illustrations.
Sharpie Art Workshop by Timothy Goodman (Apr): This book gave me so much inspiration and has many tips for creating gifts.
The addictive sketcher by Adebanji Alade (Apr)
Creative Act by Rick Rubin (Set): A must read. I can't recommend this enough. Also if like music or interested in the industry and you haven't listed to Rick's podcast, please do:
Draw anything with felt-tip pens & markers by Holly Wales (Out)
Linchpin: Are you Indispensable? by Seth Godin (Nov): It is the first time a read a book from Seth even though I read his newsletter quite often. I really liked his definition of art and emotional labour. Great book.
Playing with Sketches: 50 Creative Exercises for Designers and Artists by Whitney Sherman (Dec) : I gathered so many ideas for future art projects!
What did you read this year? What was your favorite book?
Thanks for reading,
Alex
